Women's Awareness

You’re Not Being Dramatic. Your Pain Is Real.

For so many women, pain is something they are expected to “push through.”

Period pain. Endometriosis flare-ups. PCOS symptoms. Lower back pain. Muscle tension. Bloating. Fatigue. Chronic illness flare-ups. The kind of pain that can make everyday tasks feel impossible.

At Soothie Bottle, we believe women deserve comfort, care and support without feeling like they need to explain or minimise what they are going through.

Our rechargeable hot water bottle was created to make heat therapy simpler, safer and more convenient when your body needs comfort most.

Understanding Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe period pain, chronic pelvic pain, lower back pain, bloating, nausea, fatigue and pain during or after sex. The World Health Organization estimates that endometriosis affects around 10% of reproductive-age women and girls globally, which is about 190 million people.

For many women, endometriosis pain is not just “bad cramps.” It can be sharp, deep, exhausting and unpredictable. Flare-ups can affect sleep, work, relationships, mood and daily life.

While Soothie Bottle does not treat or cure endometriosis, many women use gentle warmth as part of their comfort routine during painful days.

Understanding PCOS

Polycystic ovary syndrome, also known as PCOS, is one of the most common hormonal disorders affecting women. Symptoms can include irregular periods, acne, excess hair growth, weight changes, fertility challenges and pelvic discomfort. The World Health Organization estimates that 10–13% of women globally may have PCOS, and up to 70% of affected women may be undiagnosed.

PCOS looks different for every woman. Some may experience heavy or irregular bleeding, bloating, cramping, fatigue or body aches. Others may deal more with hormonal, skin, mood or metabolic symptoms.

No two experiences are the same, and every woman deserves to feel heard.

Chronic Illness Flare-Ups Are Real

Flare-ups can happen with many chronic conditions, including endometriosis, PCOS, adenomyosis, fibromyalgia, IBS, autoimmune conditions, chronic pelvic pain and ongoing muscle or joint pain.

A flare-up may feel like:

  • Deep pelvic or abdominal pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Muscle aches or body tension
  • Fatigue or exhaustion
  • Bloating or pressure
  • Nausea or discomfort
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Feeling emotionally drained

Even when pain is invisible, it can still be very real.

Why Heat Can Feel So Comforting

Heat has been used for generations to help soothe cramps, tension and body aches. Research suggests that heat therapy may help reduce menstrual pain for some people, and studies have found favourable effects of heating pads for period pain compared with some pain relief approaches.

A 2026 systematic review also found that heat therapy may reduce pain intensity for primary dysmenorrhea when compared with no treatment.

Heat may help by relaxing tense muscles, increasing local blood flow and creating a calming sensation on the body. It is not a replacement for medical care, but it can be a simple comfort tool for many women during painful moments.
